I got clued into a company called One Fine Stay, which is a new take on the sharing economy. Like Airbnb, they're offering up rentals of people's homes and apartment to travelers, but with hotel amenities and services. I've personally never used Airbnb, I know plenty of people who do, but personally, I'm always a little sketched out by it, like what would I really be getting. Like Airbnb, One Fine Stay lists available properties for rent, but they do all of the due diligence on the property (they turn down about 9 out of every 10 properties brought to them to work with), they deep clean the property before and after a guest leaves, offer weekly maid service (though daily can be arranged) and come into the property before the guest arrives and remove much of the owner's items to clear out closet and drawer space for the guest and they document and catalog the condition of the property so there is no question or dispute about what the condition was before the guest stayed there. They also come in and put their own toiletries, towels and bed sheets, so you aren't using god knows what from the property owner. They meet you at your check in and provide 24/7 support, and what I found really cool is they give the guests one free iPhone that has unlimited data, texts, and local calls and they've developed their own app which gives you shops, restaurants, bars in the area that you're staying in......and additional iPhones can be had for like 5 Euros or 5 Pounds a stay, so travelers can stay in touch with each other. They currently work with 1,200 properties in London, 500 in NY, 500 in Paris, 150 in LA and are expanding into Rome this summer.
